The best zone

I'm sure a lot of people would probably disagree, but I honestly think my favorite zone (post-Cata) is Eastern Plaguelands.

Atop one of the towers
Really it's the caravan questline that does it.  I love the banter between the riders, and just getting to participate in this "slice of life" for non-player heroes is significantly more interesting than most of the other tasks you're put to while questing.  I mean, here are two Argent hopefuls, journeying together, like two young actors hitchhiking their way to Hollywood.  Better yet, they're a blood elf and a dwarf, and they're obviously the best of friends.  (Yes, they're clearly a Legolas/Gimli reference, but that's just fine with me really.)

These NPCs stand out to me, much more than almost any others in the game.  It's probably because they're part of a living world -- they're on a journey, you ride with them for a while, and then you part ways and you never see them again (unless you do, in which case, I guess I just missed that part).  From a storytelling perspective, that's poignant and meaningful, in that you can't go back and visit them the way you can with basically every other NPC you encounter.

And there's the other tag-alongs.  The old paladin whose job it is to patrol between the towers.  The undead troll.  Fiona herself, who's just a merchant making her way in the world.  All of the people you meet have lives, histories, and jobs of their own and you can see them doing those jobs, again, unlike just about every other NPC in the game.

Apologies for the photobomb, Asbel.
I know this is old news, since the quest has been in the game for two or three years now, but if you haven't done it yet you should take a moment to do so.  It's a little something different, and still feels new and interesting in the face of the thousands of other quests I've done.
