I think I'm gonna put together a few guides to the transmogs I use. But in the meantime, this happened:
Yeah, I managed it. Kind of a slog, really, but I'm sure it's going to be nothing compared to getting Seeker of Knowledge. (Pristine versions of all twenty common Pandaria artifacts? Right.) All in all, I went from 10 to 20 rares solved in about, eh, twelve hours of doing nothing but archaeology.
Pro tip? Grind grind grind in Pandaria. What's especially helpful is you can buy a dingus from the Lorewalkers that makes it so all your sites are Mantid for 24 hours. Mantid sites are always in Townlong Steppes or Dread Wastes, so travel time is at a minimum, and helpfully they tend to be really small sites, so running from one dig to the next is also kept low. Do that at least until you solve the two Mantid rares, solve the two Mogu rares and two Pandaren rares, and then ...
If you're in Kalimdor, elf sites pop up regularly. Also they have seven possible rares, so it's a good bet for getting a few of what you need. Troll sites are also common but the trolls only have two or three rares. I dumped a lot of my crated artifacts into Tol'vir fragments but that didn't really pan out. Pesky Egyptian wannabes.
Anyway, even though I'll be dreaming about Archaeology, I finally have the achievement that I've wanted basically since Archaeology was introduced into the game. Now ... I just need a new project XD
