Not dead!

Hey!  I'm not dead, I swear!

Just haven't been WoWing it.  Actually ended up letting my subscription lapse.  This is probably more to do with being unemployed and broke, but it's not like the game was being terribly engaging.  I mean I got my Sky Golem, what more could I want?

Legit question, really.

So the word around the Cooking Fire is that we won't be flying in Draenor.  Something about blah-blah-developer-control, blah-blah-overcoming-obstacles.  Which is bullshit, really -- in every previous expansion, by the time you could fly you had already overcome all the obstacles there were to overcome in the old world.

They'd said before that they wouldn't be allowing flight until 6.1.  Okay, that's fine, one expansion without flight is no big deal.  But now rumor has it that they won't be allowing flying in Draenor at all.  And if that's the case, well.

I was on the fence about continuing with this expansion anyway.  My interest in the game has been waning overall since Wrath, I still don't have a group to play with or the inclination to build one, and I don't find the Draenor storyline to be all that engaging.  Garrisons look neat, granted, but that's the only definite bit of content that I'm really drawn to, and given that there's no indication that they're going to persist beyond this expansion, they're not really that compelling.

In MMOs, gear doesn't persist.  That's a given.  New levels, new gear, new challenges.  But some stuff, the really expensive flavor stuff, you're supposed to get to keep.  I farmed for months to earn my Dragon.  I bought extra accounts to get my <touring rocket>.  I worked for those lazy pandas for weeks to get my farm maxed out.  All gone.  All irrelevant.

Irrelevant dragon

It's been a good run, and I've had a lot of great memories.  But as things stand right now, I don't think I'll be back for Warlords.

Not gonna lie, Wildstar looks like it might be some fun...
